Warriors of the Hills
Nagaland debuted in the Ranji Trophy in 2018 and their promotion to Elite cricket is one of the more remarkable stories in Indian domestic cricket. The Northeast state competes against teams with decades more history, gaining invaluable experience each season.
The 2025-26 campaign was brutal โ five innings defeats and only two draws to show for seven matches. But the Round 7 performance at home against Andhra (366 and 342) showed what this team can produce. Rongsen Jonathan, the veteran captain, and Chetan Bist provided experience, while the younger players learned hard lessons against India's best domestic sides.
