The City Beautiful's New Innings
Chandigarh entered the Ranji Trophy in 2020 as a separate entity from the Punjab and Haryana associations. The Union Territory, with access to excellent facilities, is still finding its feet in Elite cricket.
The 2025-26 season was tough — one win from seven matches and last in Group B. But Arjun Azad was a revelation, scoring 168 against Maharashtra and 141 in the follow-on against Goa. Jagjit Singh's 5/69 against Madhya Pradesh was the bowling highlight. The one victory — an innings win over Kerala — showed what this team is capable of on its day.
