The Capital's Cricketing Dynasty
Delhi cricket carries the weight of expectation like few other associations. With seven Ranji Trophy titles and a production line that has supplied India with players from Bishan Bedi to Virat Kohli, the DDCA expects nothing less than results.
The 2025-26 season was one to forget. Delhi finished seventh in Elite Group D โ no outright wins from seven matches, six draws and a loss to eventual champions Jammu & Kashmir. Ayush Doseja was the silver lining: 949 runs at 105.44 made him the tournament's second-highest run-scorer. Sanat Sangwan added 828 runs with three centuries, including a double hundred against Hyderabad in the opener.
For a team that last lifted the trophy in 2007-08, the slump stings. But Doseja and Sangwan have announced themselves as serious run-scoring talents, and with captain Ayush Badoni still only 26, Delhi have the batting depth to push for a turnaround.
