Pune's Cricketing Pride
Maharashtra, separate from Mumbai in Ranji Trophy cricket, has carved its own identity with two titles (1940-41, 1940-41). Based in Pune, the MCA has produced technically sound cricketers who understand the grind of first-class cricket.
The 2025-26 season was strong โ three wins, including Prithvi Shaw's explosive 222 against Chandigarh, Ruturaj Gaikwad's back-to-back hundreds, and Vicky Ostwal's 6/40. But 24 points and 4th place wasn't enough โ only the top two from Group B qualified. A loss to Madhya Pradesh in the final round sealed the outcome.
